2020 was certainly a year of challenges and none more so than in the Property market. We understand moving home is stressful in normal circumstances but even more so when moving during a Pandemic!
No one could have foreseen the impact and severity of COVID 19. Our previous way of living and working gone in an instant. Home is more important than ever and Movus Law is aware clients may feel uneasy or uncertain during these unprecedented times. Trust and certainty are essential and we at Movus Law have a Covid Action plan which allows us to put in place mechanisms to progress your matter safely. This includes adding provisos to contracts to reflect the impact of Covid and the necessity to keep a safe distance where required. At the centre of all our planning you, the client, is the pivotal figure; our clients are our priority at all times.
We at Movus Law understand our clients are justifiably anxious about moving and whether their transactions will proceed without undue delay so as to benefit from the Stamp Duty holiday which is due to come to an end on 31 March this year.
We are now in our third lockdown and in line with Government guidance, estate agents and conveyancers will continue to remain open and the property market will continue as “normal” as possible. We will continue to work as before in progressing your matter and provide support and information as needed.
We are fully “Covid” aware and the safety of our clients is paramount. We observe all the necessary precautions including social distancing and working from home. We are disappointed that we cannot see as many of you personally as would be the norm but we do use technology as much as possible to keep in touch. Wherever possible we will send documents to you for e-signature. There may be some that require a wet signature and we will advise you in good time of this. If you would like to contact us by Zoom a call can be arranged at a time to suit you (we promise to look our best and not in our pyjamas!).
“The housing market in England will remain open. This means that people looking to move home will be able to both continue with planned moves and new property moves in the future. “You can still move home. People outside your household or support bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary. Removal firms will continue to operate. If you are looking to move, you can go to property viewings so long as the strict guidance rules are adhered to!”.
Movus Law is aware of the guidance given by the Government. We minimise risk to all parties including our staff and clients by having robust policies in place. If you encounter any difficulties at any time, we will use our best endeavours to help overcome these. We encourage all parties to work together and communicate at all stages to achieve the desired outcome.
Whilst we cannot provide cast iron guarantees we will be working as hard as possible to ensure stress is kept to a minimum. Whilst some delays may be inevitable due to lockdown you can be assured these will be kept to a minimum.
Keep Safe, Keep Well and Keep Moving!
The team at Movus law.
